Dear All,

Did anyone ever ask what happens to the plastics that make up your electronics? These plastic shells make up about 30% of the weight of waste electronics. Any electronics dismantler or shredder will tell you they are landfilled, burned or sent to that black hole called (China, or underdeveloped country). So we know that at least 30% of the weight is NOT recycled. Now ask, what weight percentage of the other materials, circuit boards, metals, glass, are recycled? Another low number. So the word RECYCLE is less descriptive of reality than maybe something like OFF THE MARKET. Ronald Kobler - RPI
